Expected Weather

Lima will be transitioning from Summer into its cooler season. Typical day temperatures from 21°C to 25°C and night temperatures between 16°C to 19°C.

Mancora has tropical weather during this time of the year. During the day temperatures are between 29°C to 32°C and night temperatures between 23°C to 25°C.

Visa and Vaccinations

In general, no Visa requirements. If you are traveling with a passport different to European or Peruvian please visit this Link.

No compulsory vaccinations for entering Peru . If you are planning to visit the Amazon area (jungle), the Ministry of Health recommends that you are vaccinated against yellow fever.

Transport in Mancora

To travel from Talara Airport to your accommodation in Mancora we recommend to take a taxi. This will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. We suggest you arrange the pickup by the taxi in advance. If you travel with a larger group, vans can be arranged. Here is a list of taxi’s to make a reservation:

Other Tips to Consider

  • Pack sunscreen 50+, the UV-index is very high;

  • Avoid drinking water from the tap;

  • Paying with creditcards is generally accepted everywhere;

  • Bring cash for taxi’s that aren’t ordered through an app. Moving within Mancora is easier by Tuk Tuk (Moto Taxi) and cash will be handy as well;

  • Peru is generally safe. However take the usual precautions everywhere (e.g. not openly showing valuables, not making it rain with dollar bills, etc.);

  • We recommend to get an e-SIM from aloSIM for cheap unlimited internet access.
